Qualified Team Manager within the Children s Service

We have an exciting new position available for a Qualified Team Manager within the Children’s Service in Essex.
Main duties include:
1. To provide and develop performance standards, monitoring, staff development and appraisal for the teams in conjunction with separate Managers.
2. To act as a member of a group of assessment and care management members with collective responsibility for assuring quality in services for children looked after and children in need.
3. To take part and lead in appropriate planning activity designed to derive good information about the needs of children in need and to contribute to effective commissioning of services.
4. To ensure that practice standards arising from regulation and guidance surrounding Children’s Act 2004 and the Quality Protects initiative are set and maintained into operational activity of
staff supervised.
5. To ensure that Departmental and Corporate policies in respect of all aspects of equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice are understood and acted upon.
6. To develop competencies for team performance relevant to the team role and function.
7. To write and maintain a performance plan for the team with specific monitorable targets.
8. To report regularly to Service Managers on the identified performance targets.
9. To set up and maintain appropriate supervision contracts with all team members.
10. To conduct annual appraisals of all staff supervised and to identify individual and team staff development needs.
11. To attend case conferences and reviews alongside practitioners as required, or to Departmental policy.
Pay rate is between £18 to £22 per hour.
GSCC Registration is essential.
