Just Social Care currently have locum social worker vacancies to join this Initial Assessment/child protection service in Colchester.
To be considered for this role you will need at least 18 months experience of statutory social work in a front line setting, involving direct work with children and families. This means referral and assessment and or child protection/child in need work
You must have experience in and must be able to;
- Undertake child protection investigations and work to child protection plans
- Assess risk and need in relation to children and families and formulate plans to address needs
- Engage with children, young people and their parents in challenging circumstances
- Undertake assessments with good analytical and child centred focus
- Work well with partner agencies and communicate with other professionals
- Be child focused
- Work as part of a team
- Use supervision effectively
- Understand information technology as appropriate to the job and maintain accurate and up to date records on our IT system.
- Be able to write clear reports quickly and to a high standard
- Understand the legal process and have experience of writing reports for court, attending court and giving evidence.
