Come and Try Orienteering Sunday 18th May 2008
Do you want to try some outdoor adventure?
Do you want to add that little extra interest to your walk in the park?
If your answer is YES to either question then come to the Visitor Centre at Thorndon Country Park North, The Avenue, Brentwood anytime between 10.30am and 3pm on Sunday 18th May 2008.
Members of the Havering and South Essex Orienteering Club (HAVOC) will be on hand to get you started on an orienteering course. The only equipment you need is outdoor shoes and clothing suitable for the weather conditions. Plus £2 for the entry fee (only one fee is payable for a group). There is an ECC car parking fee of £2. Orienteering is an outdoor adventure activity that exercises both the mind and the body. The aim is to navigate between a series of control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It does not matter how young, old or fit you are or feel, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace. You can take part on your own, with a partner or in a group.
