Methods


Fusion Bonding
The fusion bonding method is the most common method of attaching hair extensions. It is also the quickest and easiest way to fit hair extensions. A small section of remy human hair is cut from a weft and a small amount of a warm keratin bond is applied around the strand with a keratin gun. This is then placed on a small section of your own hair and rolled using a silicone pad

This method is great for any hair type, the bond size can be altered depending on how thick/thin your natural hair is. This is the oldest method of attaching extensions, as a result this is the method that most people have heard problems about. This is more often than not a result of the extensionist not being fully trained or qualified and the correct aftercare and removal not being undertaken. It can also simply be because too much hair has been attached for what your own hair may naturally take.

These extensionswill last 3-4 months (as long as the correct aftercare is followed) and are suitable for all hair types.


Pre Bonded
Pre bonded hair extensions are applied in strands. The remy human hair has a bond already attached to one end. This bond is then fused to a small section of your own hair with a heat connector.

These extensions are great for clients who are not comfortable with fusion bonded extensions. Pre bonded extensions also tend to have less problems with shedding than the fusion bonded extensions.

This method will last approximately 3-4 months (as long as the correct aftercare is followed).


Micro Rings
Micro ring extensions are used in conjunction with Remy pre-bonded hair. Micro rings are small metal rings which are coloured to blend with your hair. A small acrylic coated metal ring is clamped over the hair holding it in place.

They are an option for people who are not comfortable with fusion bonded extensions. Yet, this method is not suitable for people with overly thick/thin hair as you cannot alter the bond size, and may for example find that the micro ring is too heavy for finer heads of hair.

Micro rings do not last as long as fusion bonded extensions. Your suitability for this method would need to be discussed.


Shrink Tubes
Shrink tube hair extensions are used in connection with Remy pre-bonded hair. Shrink tubes are small tubes which come in different colours to blend with you hair. The extension is pulled through the shrink tube and when heat is applied, the shrink tube shrinks and wraps the extension and your hair together.

With this method you cannot feel the extension as with the other methods, and they will be quite light. However, they are removed very easily and are therefore not suitable for long term wear. This option is most suited to people who want extensions for a special occasion only.
