Essex nanny / babysitting

au pair-with own house and car

Date posted: Monday 26th October
Location: Braintree

My name is Kellie; my husband’s name is Scott. We have Tayler, a girl who is ten, and Cadia, a little girl if eight.
You will have your own house separate from ours, and your own car. You must be able to drive.
DUTIES
As I work from home full time, I like to spend my spare time with my children, therefore the duties with our family is primarily housekeeping. Usually au pair hours are 5/6, but with us it is five hours house duties on Monday, Tuesday it is five hours of mixed, some house work, and some other work. Wednesday is usually a quieter day with less house duties. Thursday is mixed duties and Friday is cleaning and tidying. If you can use the computer, other duties include computer work or helping with the children.
Most days you can start between 8 and 10 am, and once your duties are finished then you can go. Occasionally because I have meeting or something I will need you to do less in the morning and will need you back later to pick the girls up from school. That happens once every two weeks or so.
You are usually supposed to give two babysits a week on au pair status, but we usually take the girls out with us, and every other weekend they go to their Father’s house for the weekend. (Scott is their step-dad). So, babysitting will not be twice a week, and some weeks there is no babysitting at all.
THE FAMILY
The girls are very polite and kind. We are a happy, fun family. We like to play music (well, not me – they all do), and we have a piano, Scott plays the guitar, and the girls play violin and piano. I clap my hands! We are a very active family too, and eat very healthily.
We are a very sociable family – chatty – so if you need to speak a lot of English, you can count on that in our family!
HOME
Our house is a small four bed roomed house, so there is not too much to clean. We have a small garden with a Jacuzzi. Your house has a bedroom upstairs, and a kitchen, shower bathroom and lounge downstairs. You have a TV/DVD, and internet. Everything you need is there. You also have a car that is not very old. It is an Astra. It is automatic.
LOCATION
We live in a very beautiful friendly village. It has two pubs, a café, butchers, gift shops, hair dressers, and a mini-market – The Co-op. It is ten minutes to the nearest town, Braintree. 20 mins from Stansted. 45 mins by train to London. Nearest big town is Chelmsford - 25 minutes.
The nearest college is 15 mins away. There are buses too and from the village as well.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a person, who is positive, happy and friendly. We need someone who likes looking after the home. Who enjoys a lively atmosphere. We need someone who has good imitative, who is confident and enjoys children.
It would help if you know how to use computers, and you must be able to drive. If you have never driven an automatic, it is easy. We would be happy to give you a lesson. We would like applicants to already reside in the UK.
MONEY
We will pay for your food, your bills in the house, car tax, insurance and give you £80 per week.
You will have to pay for your own petrol and if you want to go to college you will have to pay for that. But as I have said, you will definitely learn a lot of language skills with us.
We will give you petrol money if you have used the car for us.
As you can see under ‘duties’, you will have a lot of free time and we are more than happy for you to get part-time work somewhere else and use the car for this purpose. There are many opportunities to work in the Village too.

Please send CV, police check, and photos.

Thank you.
